Hi hi hi there,
I really don't like updating journals at all, because I feel they are only important to those people that really use DeviantART on a regular basis. Being someone that doesn't use DeviantART as much as I want to, I don't feel the need to write these things often. So I apologize if I've seemed dead lately.
Lots have happened since my last journal, but I don't like to talk about my own life so Ill summarize everything in a quick, simple way.
Im single now, and happy. It was a long relationship with all kinds of good and bad, but I can only stand to be so betrayed before reaching my limit. I spent the summer moving on, and I have. I spent it clearing my head and getting ready for the next part of my life. However, I did get to taste something that was extremely sweet and keeps me hoping... <3
SUNY Purchase!! I got accepted to the school of my dreams! Im a transfer student who is a Sophomore right now, Im undeclared but Im looking to pursue the BFA of Filmmaking and a minor in creative writing. Right now I have an application in to be an intern for the Purchase TV channel, and Im going to be getting a position on the school publication being a reviewer of films. Im really excited about both possible positions because Im able to pursue what I really want to do. So wish me luck!
Over the summer I was able to make two pretty big steps (in my opinion) towards my dream:
The first one: My father grew up with the director Brad Anderson (directed: Session 9, The Machinist, Transsiberian, and Vanishing on 7th Street) and they've been life long friends. Over the summer Mr. Anderson directed an episode from the second season of Boardwalk Empire and invited me to go to NYC to shadow him while he filmed it. I was able to get some serious experience watching him work, meeting all kinds of crew members working in the industry, I met Steve Buscemi (who is very nice), and was able to get a sneak peek into season two of Boardwalk Empire.
The second one: I found a group of students who broke a deal with Machinima.com for a live action adaptation of Left 4 Dead, so I joined the production as a Production Assistant, and a zombie extra (which led me to being the primary zombie for two episodes). It was pretty awesome being involved on a zombie movie (which I love, don't you know), and working on the set of that. Im not sure when it will be released, but Ill post it in a journal. On one of the shoots we had about 15-16 zombies and it was pretty crazy. I wasn't doing the makeup for it, unfortunately, but it was awesome just working on a shoot.
That is really all that Ive been up to that I care to share. Im going to be attending the New York Comic Con with a group of my mates from Purchase. Ill be going as Lee Bermejo's Joker from the graphic novel JOKER written by Brian Azzarello. Azzarello will be there and Im hoping to get a picture with him and to have him sign my copy. I love that story, so damned much. Hopefully one of my mates will be going as Harley Quinn, so that would be fun. I may or may not be attending Connecticon next year. It depends on if I can do what I want to, and if my best friend would be willing to do it with me. It would be a serious bleeding costume, making Pyramid Head seem small in comparison. Ill keep you all posted.
Hope everyone has been well, sorry again for leaving you all in the dark, but my journals usually never have any hits so I see no need for them.
